Thoughts on the Chakra System

Chakras

So what is a Chakra?

What does your Chakra say about you?

What is your purpose is in this life?

“Knowing others is intelligence;
knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength;
mastering yourself is true power.”
Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

Dr. Anodea Judith author of “Wheels of Life” states: “Chakras are the sacred energy centers within you that carry you toward greater aliveness and realization. As the architecture of the soul, they provide an important map for your wholeness and evolution.”

Dr. Richard Jelusich; author of Eye of the Lotus explains that each “chakra regulates the flow of life-force energy, Psi (also known as Chi or Ki) between the physical and the higher dimensions, and (that) they are the filters through which you perceive life: They are portals for your consciousness to this dimension”.

Barbara Ann Brennan “views the chakras as transformers that receive and process universal energy, as well as enabling expression and healthy functioning of the individual’s own consciousness and psycho-physical make-up.” ~ from Wikipedia

In my opinion each of us is emanated here into this dimension through our Chakras – a set of seven energy vortexes found running from the top of our head the “Crown” to the base of our perineum “Root”. Each one of these vortexes relates to who you are as a spiritual being here in this dimension. Each carries an attribute of who you are and why you do what you do. Let me explain….

The word “Chakra” is understood to be of Sanskrit origin, meaning “wheel” or “circle”; and that within each individual are seven of these wheels – each one an energy vortex of Chi or Ki energy: what I like to refer to as your spiritual power. These seven vortexes work together with the Sushumna energy which runs up the center of your spine and the Ida and Pingala energies which weave through each Chakra center to radiate your consciousness, who you are as a spiritual being, into this physical realm. I believe, each person will have one Chakra that is most influential in representing who they are (for the lack of better terms), one Chakra that will stand out or speak to the dominant characteristics of that person.

Our Chakra System

  • 7th Chakra or Crown (Sahasrara) – the one who can connect to the workings of the Universe, Divine Source, God: is connected to and sees that we are all “One”,  this Chakra is referred to as the connection point with Divine Source
  • 6th Chakra or 3rd Eye (Ajna) – the one who can begin to understand higher communications/realities; referred to often as the Prophet
  • 5th Chakra or Throat (Vishuddha) – the one who can express ideas/thoughts/speech  in a way all can understand; referred to as the Communicator
  • 4th Chakra or Heart (Anahata) – the one who to feels love/showing empathy/ know what love is; referred to as the one who feels others pain/joy/emotions (an Empath)
  • 3rd Chakra or Solar Plexus (Manipura) – the one who represents truth in its purest form, one who owns a strong sense of Self; referred to as the Leader, the way-shower by seeing what the essence is in someone/something
  • 2nd Chakra or Sacral (Svadhishthana) – the one who sees the greater picture: the one who can create something from nothing; referred to often as a visionary seeing the whole picture
  • 1st Chakra or Root (Muladhara) – the one who understands what it is to be here in this physical realm. This chakra is about survival – being safe and secure in your self and your environment; referred to as one who is centered and grounded

It is my belief that our Chakras not only help us to find the connection of who we are but why we are who we are. Our human characteristics. These vortexes  guide us to a greater understanding of this physical form; our bio-body-suit. In brief each chakra represents an aspect of who we are on a higher or lower level of “Being” on this physical plain.

For you see chakra’s are but our own personal energy votexes or energy sources directly connecting us to source (God, Universal Love, Universe).  By learning about ourselves through our chakras we learn why we are here. What our soul purpose is, and how and why we interact with others in certain ways or manners. I encourage you to take time to find yourself through looking at who you represent energetically through your Chakras.

A human being has so many skins inside, covering the depths of the heart. We know so many things, but we don’t know ourselves! Why, thirty or forty skins or hides, as thick and hard as an ox’s or bear’s, cover the soul. Go into your own ground and learn to know yourself there. ~ Meister Eckhart
