Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, energy-based healing practice that supports relaxation, balance, and overall well-being. It works with the body’s natural energy system to help calm the mind, release stress, and restore a sense of peace and connection.

For over 25 years, I have shared Reiki as a compassionate and supportive practice, helping individuals create space for relaxation, self-awareness, balance, and reconnection with themselves.

FAQ's Where you hold - what you don't always feel.

What does a Reiki session feel like?

Reiki feels different for everyone, but most people experience it as deeply calming and relaxing. Some notice warmth, tingling, gentle waves of energy, emotional release, or a sense of peace and lightness. Others may simply feel rested and grounded. There is no “right” way to experience Reiki — each session is unique to the individual.

What happens during a Reiki session?

During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed while resting comfortably on a treatment table or seated in a chair. The practitioner gently places their hands on or just above different areas of the body to support the flow of energy and promote relaxation and balance.

Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

No. Reiki is a gentle supportive practice that many people use for relaxation, stress reduction, and emotional balance regardless of their beliefs or background.

Can Reiki help with stress and anxiety?

Many people seek Reiki to help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and create a greater sense of emotional balance and grounding.

Can Reiki help with emotional healing?

Reiki may support emotional release, self-awareness, and inner calm by helping the body and mind relax deeply. Every person’s experience is unique.

How long is a Reiki session?

Sessions are commonly between 60–90 minutes, depending on the service booked.

How will I feel afterward?

People often leave feeling calmer, lighter, grounded, rested, or more emotionally clear. Some may feel energized, while others may want quiet rest and hydration afterward.

Is Reiki safe?

Reiki is considered a gentle, non-invasive complementary wellness practice intended to support relaxation and well-being. It is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.

Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, guided therapeutic approach that uses deep relaxation and focused awareness to help support positive change, emotional healing, and personal growth. In this relaxed state, the mind becomes more open to insight, new perspectives, and healthier patterns of thinking and behavior.

My hypnotherapy practice began in 2023 and is supported by many years of experience using guided visualization, meditation, and relaxation techniques dating back to 2007. Together these approaches have deepened my understanding of self-awareness, nervous system relaxation, and the connection between mind, body, and emotional well-being.

Your Hypnotherapy Session

What happens during a Hypnotherapy session?

During a hypnotherapy session, you are guided into a deeply relaxed and focused state where the mind becomes more open to positive change and insight. While in this relaxed state, the practitioner may use gentle suggestions, visualization, or guided techniques to help address patterns, beliefs, emotions, habits, or challenges you would like support with.

You remain aware and in control throughout the session, and many people describe the experience as calming, restorative, and similar to a deep meditation.

What does Hypnosis feel like?

Clients have described the experience as feeling deeply relaxed, like meditation – some have said “it was like a spa for my mind”. You may feel as if you are drifting in and out of a deep relaxed state of consciousness during the session, and will always return refreshed and awake.

Can everyone be hypnotized?

Most Certainly! Individuals can by hypnotized to varying degrees. The level of hypnosis a person achieves is often associated with their desire to succeed, their receptivity to suggestion and ability to respond. Everyone experiences many times a day, for example when we are absorbed by a good book, a piece of music and lose all track of time or space.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals, history, and the changes you wish to create. Some individuals notice meaningful shifts within a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer process of exploration and integration.

Can hypnotherapy help with stress or anxiety?

Hypnotherapy may help individuals develop greater awareness of stress patterns and learn tools that support relaxation and emotional regulation. Many people report feeling calmer and more balanced after sessions. However, experiences vary from person to person and hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical or mental health care.

Is Hypnotherapy safe?

Yes — Hypnotherapy is generally considered a safe and gentle approach when practiced by a trained professional. You remain fully aware, conscious, and in control throughout the session and cannot be made to do anything against your wishes or values.

I have been a trained Hypnotherapist since 2023 and am the President of the Canadian Association of Counselling Hypnotherapists and Educators, as well as a member of the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association. My approach is professional, compassionate, and focused on creating a safe, supportive environment for healing and personal growth.

Most people experience hypnotherapy as deeply relaxing, calming, and supportive. It is commonly used to help with stress, anxiety, confidence, habits, emotional healing, and personal growth.

Integrative Chakra Therapy®

What is Integrative Chakra Therapy® (ICT)?

Integrative Chakra Therapy (ICT) is a holistic healing approach that combines chakra balancing, energy psychology, meditation, and spiritual healing practices to support emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. It works with the chakras as centers of consciousness to help bring awareness, healing, balance, and personal growth.

I have been practicing ICT since 2007 and have been instructing and facilitating since 2018, supporting individuals, on Vancouver Island, in their healing journey through compassionate guidance, energy work, spiritual development, and self-awareness practices.

How is ICT different from Reiki?

Integrative Chakra Therapy and Reiki are both energy-based healing practices, but they differ in focus and structure.

Reiki is primarily a hands-on (or hands-off) energy healing technique where the practitioner channels universal life-force energy to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and energetic balance. The practitioner generally acts as a conduit for healing energy, and sessions are often quiet, gentle, and non-directive.

Integrative Chakra Therapy (ICT), by contrast, is more structured and psychologically focused. In addition to energy balancing, it works specifically with the chakra system to explore emotional patterns, beliefs, trauma, personal growth, and spiritual development. ICT sessions may include guided processes, meditation, visualization, discussion, intuitive insight, and techniques drawn from energy psychology or spiritual counseling — making it more interactive and transformational in approach than traditional Reiki alone.

What are chakras?

In the study of ICT, the chakras are not just “energy centers,” but centers of consciousness that influence how we perceive and respond to life mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Each chakra reflects different qualities, lessons, fears, strengths, and ways of experiencing reality, and one chakra may become “dominant” in shaping a person’s character and life patterns.

What are the four archetypes?

The four archetypes are the four core dimensions of the human experience: the Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual aspects of self. Together, they describe the different ways we process life, express consciousness, and seek balance and growth.

What can I expect during a session?

In an Integrative Chakra Therapy session, a person can expect a supportive, guided experience focused on balancing the chakras and exploring the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of self. Sessions may include conversation, intuitive insight, meditation, energy work, visualization, and techniques to help identify patterns, beliefs, or energetic imbalances that may be affecting well-being. The goal is to promote greater awareness, healing, balance, and personal growth.

Grief and Emotional Support

Do You Offer Grief & Emotional Support?

Yes. I offer compassionate emotional and spiritual support for those moving through grief, loss, life transitions, overwhelm, change, and difficult emotional experiences. My approach provides a safe, supportive space to process emotions, reconnect with yourself, and find grounding during challenging times.

As an ordained Metaphysical Reverend since 2018, I work with individuals navigating bereavement, personal loss, emotional healing, spiritual questions, and major life changes with compassion, presence, and respect for each person’s unique journey. Sessions may include supportive conversation, spiritual guidance, meditation, energy work, or simply holding space for what you are experiencing.

Many clients seek support for grief and bereavement, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, stress, burnout, relationship changes, spiritual growth, and navigating uncertainty or transition. My intention is to offer gentle support that nurtures emotional well-being, inner balance, healing, and personal transformation.

Can sessions help with emotional overwhelm?

Yes. Sessions can help support emotional overwhelm by creating space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and gently process what you are carrying. Many people come feeling emotionally exhausted, anxious, stuck, disconnected, or weighed down by stress, life changes, or unresolved emotions.

What if I cry during a session?

Crying is completely welcome in a session. Tears are often a natural and healthy response to releasing emotions, stress, grief, or experiences that may have been held inside for a long time.

You do not need to hold anything together or “perform” in any way. Sessions are offered in a compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you are free to experience whatever arises for you. We move at a pace that feels safe and supportive, always honoring your comfort and readiness.

What if I do not know how I feel?

That is completely okay. Many people come to a session feeling disconnected, numb, uncertain, or unable to put their feelings into words. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Sessions are a gentle and supportive space to simply be where you are. Sometimes clarity comes gradually through quiet reflection, conversation, relaxation, and reconnecting with yourself. There is no pressure to explain everything or know exactly what you are feeling. We begin from wherever you are in the moment.
